English pop artist Esser tells us why he voluntarily got hit in the face with food and then threw up all over his shirt in the “I Love You” video. It was for art. Sort of.
Loosely based off of–and making fun of–performance art videos, Esser wanted to show that “love is no excuse for bad art.”
