Red Fang is the name of the band. And the sound? Self-explanatory. Red Fang is a metal band that makes a living through assaulting your eardrums. Rough and raw, sleazy and gritty, they’re everything metal should be. Their music is produced in a way that allows all the raw energy to shine through, alleviating nothing. And as the San Fransisco Bay Guardian said, they are “loud as fuck.”
The Guardian goes on to say that although Red Fang is metal, they’ve put a unique spin on it. Yes, they shred–but it’s a shred with a “groove” sound to it, “that’s formidable on disc but absolutely kills live.”
They also allowed themselves to be slayed by a wizard and knights in the video clip below for “Prehistoric Dog.” That’s what happens when you make fun of nerds. Check it out:
