NJ-based twin sisters Nalani & Sarina are a musical force to be reckoned with and the world is quickly taking notice.
They recently released “Get Away,” the lead video off their new EP, Scattered World, which follows on the heels of their critically acclaimed 2014 album, Lessons Learned. Nalani and Sarina say the song was written at a time of great personal and professional frustration. With the opening line of “You wake up in the same old place thinking, ‘what face shall I wear today?’”, it’s apparent that they’re ready to fight back against the double standards and ridiculous contradictions everyday life throws their way. Backed by some of NYC’s finest sidemen, including the great Will Lee on bass, the twins fluidly trade lead vocals as they musically straddle the lines between rock and pop, with a bit of funk thrown in as well.
Last month we were lucky enough to meet up with Nalani & Sarina in NYC to discuss how they began their musical journey, their love of the the studio, their latest single, “Get Away,” and more.
