M83 remixes White Lies

Stereogum reported on June 8 that M83 was at it again with the remixes. This time, White Lies’ gothic “Nothing to Give” got the electronic wash. When listening to the original verison of this song, you can’t help but think about emotional walks through the graveyard, and all of that sort of bleakery. With M83’s remix, the gothic charm of the song remains intact–it’s just different. Instead of shoegazer guitars, M83 uses keyboards and industrial sounds. It gives the song a more otherwordly appeal–as if the walk through the graveyard were happening in some cyberpunk, Matrix-like future. Interesting.
