Jet Lag Gemini, for a while, was stuck on a problem–they were a talented band with nothing to play. In August, their parked tour van was broken into and their equipment stolen. But, thankfully, this wasn’t how the story ended.
What happened next was straight out of a movie.
The police chased down a man wading through the reeds of the Meadowlands, Michael R. Pelissier. He jumped into Berry’s Creek when police found his jeep full of stolen goods, including Jet Lag’s prized instruments. Police found out the equipment was theirs by looking on the side of the guitar cases, where the band had stenciled on their name.
And how did they find out who Jet Lag Gemini was? The police Googled them and found their contact information. The world certainly has changed. I wonder what would have happened if this happened twenty years ago–the equipment might’ve been lost forever.
At any rate, Jet Lag Gemini got their stuff back, which altogether cost them a good $5,000. Frontman Misha Safonov works with us at HIP Promo, so we’re really glad that everything worked out for him.
