“Miracles” Music Video: Andrew X (pop-retro)
In the vein of a classic John Hughes film soundtrack, North Carolina singer-songwriter Andrew X is a carrier of the torch of ’80s pop-rock. “Miracles” is the centerpiece of his album Driving at Sunset, where he’s collaborated with the likes of Anberlin and Copeland producer Matt Goldman and Killers and Imagine Dragons mixing engineer Mark Needham. The “Miracles” video, which waas directed by Luke Pilgrim and Brad Kennedy, is a throwback to the first-generation clips that inspire us.
“My Side” Music Video: Devontaii (R&B)
R&B artist, writer, and producer Devontaii descends from a long line of singers rooted in the soul of the 70s. He’s now earned his way to the iTunes R&B top 30. “My Side”, which comes from the upcoming EP Loversonly 2, has a classic R&B vibe. BoJack Films directed the “My Side” music video, which adds a visual component to Devontaii’s vulnerable lyrics.
“Forever Man” Music Video: Christian Parker (singer-songwriter)
In the tradition of The Beatles and The Byrds, upstate NY pop-rock artist Christian Parker has shared his new single “Forever Man”, a singalong song with a serious message. The smart, resonant clip for “Forever Man” was directed by Morgan Elliott, and it’s an exercise in time travel, showing a photo book sprung to life.
“Quantum Factory” Music Video: Sonarpilot (electronic)
With imaginative fractal visuals by Roger Mader, Sonarpilot (Michael Moppert) transports audiences into The Mirage Project with each musical and visual Mirage. The dynamic duo are joined by London-based DJ Jonny Miller “Mirage V: Quantum Factory” from The Mirage Project, Season 2. This Mirage is aimed at “Unleashing the Power of Superintelligent Matter”, and the video is a beautiful, fascinating dive into the elusive realm of subatomic particles.
“Freedom Guaranteed” Music Video: Gil Karson & The Karson City Rebels (rock)
California native and lifelong singer-songwriter Gil Karson has opened for The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Steppenwolf, and The Rascals. Roots/blues/country rockers Gil Karson & The Karson City Rebels are working on their first album, and have now released their debut single, the patriotic Americana song, “Freedom Guaranteed.” Gil Karson himself directed the video, which features the man and the Rebels rocking out, spliced with footage of soldiers and veterans.
