Renowned singer/songwriter Justin Levinson is known for a catalog of songs covering everything from power-pop to country. Earning steady praise from audiences and critics since 2005, this Vermont native describes his music as feel-good heartbreak songs. HIP Video Promo is pleased to introduce his quirky new video clip “Free Love.”

Paying his dues and honing his craft at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Justin’s breakthrough ultimately came with his ode to small-town life, “City With Two Streetlights” from his debut record 1175 Boylston. The song spent eight straight weeks on the top 25 CMJ Charts, gaining airplay in over 350 stations across the country. Amidst a slot in the 2006 International Pop Overthrown Tour and an award for Best Male Artist at the International Acoustic Music Awards, his sophomore album Bury Your Love was released.

Closing the decade in 2009 was the alternative-country inspired album Predetermined Fate, which brought Justin his strongest reviews to date; the success of the Sirius radio staple “Waiting For Someone To Love Me” won Justin a nomination for Singer/Songwriter Discovery of the Year. Levinson’s newest album This Side of Me, This Side of You was released in January 2012 and includes backing band The Valcours who dress Justin’s distressful lyrics with an eclectic mix of piano, loud guitar, horns, strings, and dreamy harmonies.

Director Tone Evans shows us just how unique Levinson truly is in this heartwarming clip “Free Love.” Comedic scenes shine a light on the misfortunes of love, and bring forth the lighter side of dating. The song is sung from the perspective of someone who has played the field one too many times and is looking for a chance to settle down with something more substantial. An immersed lover cleverly follows Justin as his lyrics foretell his feelings about the trials and tribulations of free love. With a smart and stylish ending, “Free Love” speaks volumes of Justin Levinson’s defining characteristics.
