And just when you thought ska was dead…
Big D and the Kids Table, big names in the late 90s, have come out with a new ska record that will knock your socks off. It’s ska–but it’s also a new sound, ska redefined. In addition to the staple guitar and horns, Big D scoops in some melodies, piano and organ. In addition to the buzzy, noisy, youthful exhuberance ska made famous, you hear more serious themes, addressing things that the reggae great addressed–politics, drug abuse, tolerance.
The album’s called Fluent In Stroll, and the band dubs it the “most mature” work of theirs to date. See more about it here.
