The crazy dark guy Antony and his classically-inclined band the Johnsons played in NYC on the 20th. Stereogum snapped a bunch of tell-all pictures. See here.
One of the hits of the evening was the band’s earth-shattering rendition of Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love,” and a wrinkled old sax player who was insanely good.
Antony also, according to Stereogum, said during the performance that it was “good to be home” (he lives in the city.)
But unfortunately, he wasn’t at home for very long. He’s going to Norway on the 15th, and he won’t be coming back to the New World for a bit. A shame.
