Fever Ray grabbed an impressive 8.1 album review rating from Pitchfork.
The review mentioned The Knife several times.
Fever Ray’s debut album couldn’t avoid comparisons to The Knife. It is Dreijer Andersson’s solo project, after all, and The Knife is that other band in her life.
Pitfork concluded that while Fever Ray’s album used some of the same wacky snyths that The Knife uses, Fever Ray feels more eerie, anxious and dreary. A slower, sadder version of The Knife sound, which works frighteningly well. Read the review.
