Antony and the Johnsons will be in Europe this summer, performing with a large orchestra that, according to Tiny Mixtapes, will feature from 36 to 52 members at one time.
Antony is not only going for huge sound during this tour–he’s also making the staging itself a masterpiece. Also according to Tiny Mix Tapes, Antony has been inspired by Bauhaus stage lighting design and, “considering the dreams of crystals inside mountains” inspired him as well.
If you haven’t already guessed, Antony is not only a musical artist but a visual one too. And he doesn’t just do staging–in his spare time, when he’s not doing the band, he paints dreamy, surreal and otherworldly landscapes that are, according to Quiet Color, “incredibly complex.”
