“Brighter Lighting” Music Video: Elijah Wolf (Indie/Americana)
Phoenicia, NY native Elijah Wolf drew heavily from his surroundings on songs like “Brighter Lighting”, which features friend Nels Cline (of Wilco) on guitar and has already seen love on Music Choice. Director Dylan Kaplowitz shot the “Brighter Lighting” video on Super 8, moving through Wolf’s hometown much like he might have as he was putting the track together.
“48 Ratchet” ft. BeatKing Music Video: Maribased1 (Hip-hop/rap)
Maribased1’s music is second to none, and this Seattle artist has received major programming love at BET Jams and MTV Jams (“Score’N”, “Bouncin'”, “Mystery Girl”, “Thee End”), as well as numerous awards in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. For the new single “48 Ratchet”, he’s joined by Houston’s BeatKing (also known as “Club Godzilla”), who boasts over two million monthly listeners on Spotify. “48 Ratchet” is already making waves: it hit #1 on the Urban Influencer and Radio Expert chart, and #9 on the Top 30 College Radio chart, heading for #1 as well. In the animated “48 Ratchet” video (directed by Mr. Benjamin), they reclaim the word “ratchet”, referencing and celebrating everything relevant in pop culture today, like TikTok, IG fans, and of course, the sex-positive rapper, Cardi B.
“Passing Fan” Music Video: Pennan Brae (Rock)
Vancouver singer-songwriter Pennan Brae makes music like a time machine; it’ll bring you back to the analog rawness and creative excitement of the 1970s and 80s. “Passing Fad” is his latest single, and its video – a lyric video created by Rob Fitzgerald – is a true blast from the past, filled with an abundance of nostalgia.
“Count It Up” Music Video: Frank Hugo (Hip-hop/rap)
Metro-Atlanta rapper Frank Hugo knows what it’s like to have started from nothing – but with the drive of an entrepreneur, he is now the CEO and executive music producer for his record label Brick Money Records, among other ventures. In his new video “Count It Up” (directed by Masart Films), you already know what he’s counting. But he’s not just counting: this CEO makes sure to spend, and flaunt, his money.
“Valentine” Music Video: Grey Delisle (Folk/Americana)
Grey DeLisle is a Grammy-winning recording artist whose albums The Graceful Ghost and Iron Flowers (released on Sugar Hill/Vanguard Records) were critically acclaimed and have reached fans around the world through radio, press, and touring. She’s also a prominent voiceover actor (Scooby-Doo, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Simpsons). “Valentine” is the first single from Borrowed, her album of cover songs for Regional Records, and it features strings arranged and conducted by Eric Gorfain (Radiohead, Coldplay). It was originally release by her ex-husband Murray Hammond, on the Old 97s record Fight Songs before the two began dating. The “Valentine” video (directed by song producer Marvin Etzioni) captures the mood of Grey’s interpretation of this unique song, in a studio and singing into a vintage microphone with Hammond accompanying her on acoustic guitar.
“You’re Fine” Music Video: Silvertung (Hard rock)
Rising hard rock quartet Silvertung hail from Baltimore, but they’re soon to take on the world: four of their singles have hit the Billboard Mainstream Rock Radio Chart, and they’ve worked with Grammy-nominated producer David Ivory (Halestorm) and producer Steven Wright (Slipknot, Avril Lavigne). “You’re Fine”, from (But, at What Cost??!), tackles mental illness head-on and leaves the listener with an important message. In the “You’re Fine” video (directed by Wade Spencer), we see actors in distress and working through their troubles, while Silvertung are rocking out in the woods.
“BONITA” Music Video: Niko Brim (Rap)
Niko Brim introduces himself as a king and that’s not a boast made lightly. “BONITA” comes from the recent album B4 THE THRONE, an extension and refinement of the sound he developed on the 2018 album A Thousand Pictures: Chapter Two, which established him as budding royalty in the NYC hip-hop underground. “Droughts in the Ocean” Music Video: Estani (Pop)
Los Angeles artist Estani is familiar with the stages at The Montreal Jazz Festival, Staples Center, and The Tonight Show; she was also the background singer for international artists Laura Pausini and Joan Sebastian and instructed Jorydn Jones (Stay Famous) and Olivia Cella. Her new single and video “Droughts In The Ocean” is a prime example of her stylistic range from Latin soul to acoustic, jazz, and salsa. Estani directed the video herself, and here she’s joined in black and white by a group of dancers, shining in angelic, flowing dresses.
“The One I Love” Music Video: Billy D. Rice (Rap/country)
Billy D. Rice was born in Canada and spent time in Boca Raton, Florida; though he falls under the umbrella of “country” he pulls influence from rock, dance, hip-hop, and more. In the video for “The One I Love” (directed by Josh Tiller – CT Media), he’s joined by his real-life love interest – Ms.Bluepandora.
