It’s been a busy time here at HIP HQ as we get into the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Since our birthday in October, many big things have been happening, and there’s still so much to celebrate.
Recently, HIP founder and president Andy Gesner was interviewed on the Cosound podcast. Cosound is a music industry app crafted to allow artists of all kinds to exchange, share, and buy music without any sort of middleman getting in the way. They’ve created a community where creative kindred spirits have limitless possibilities for creating and sharing their craft. Cosound also helps music lovers of all kinds can connect and find artists. It’s a nurturing and welcoming place for musicians.
Andy and Zaid from Cosound talked about all things HIP. They go down 20 years of memory lane and reminisce about HIP Video Promo’s many milestones. They talked about how it all started, where the name came from, and the idea behind it. What began as organizing and producing shows eventually turned into promoting artists and their music videos. They talk about the early days of 30 Second of Mars and how exciting that was, as well as the game-changing Johnny Cash “Hurt” video that came in. They also chatted about YouTube views and what artists can do to increase them. We’re thrilled to have had the chance to talk to Cosound and share what we love to do with even more people.
If you’d like to listen to the rest of the podcast, you can find the free Cosound app in the Apple Store and listen right on your phone. You can also connect with even more artists and find even more music.
