Music is a great way to express yourself and share your emotions and stories – and that’s what ourlatest HIP Picks – Weekly Client Roundup shows. Take a look at the videos above, and learn more about each clip by clicking on the links below.

“Bull in the Shop” Music Video: UTILITY (Rock)

Ryan Heise and Adam Draper have been rocking in Portland and the Pacific Northwest for years (Down Gown, System and Station, Swim Swam Swum, Last Giant), and UTILITY is their latest project. “Bull In The Shop” is the lead single from their debut album, and it exemplifies their approach to rowdy minimalism. In Brian Nelson’s video for the clip, the duo let us into a backyard planning session… which ends up with them in outrageous, entertaining costumes.

“Honesty” Music Video: Mychael Gabriel (Funk/pop/soul)

Mychael Gabriel has always called the shots in his career, and his roots in the history of Paisley Park are apparent. He’s made a name for himself as the music collaborator for the legendary percussionist and Prince ally, Sheila E, and “Honesty”is sure to burnish his reputation and establish him as mandatory listening for anybody with a taste for explosive pop-funk. On screen, his guitar is about all his wearing, the raw sexuality plainly in view and unobjectionable.

“Take Me Down” Music Video: Alexa Friedman (Pop)

Like all young pop singers, Alexa Friedman has had to overcome adversity, but what makes her stand out is the ease and skill with which she’s turned her personal struggles into enjoyable music. Following her past singles “Enrapture” and “Meant To Be”, she’s back with “Take Me Down”, which puts her talents on display again. And as you’ll see in Spencer D. Evans’ clip for “Take Me Down”, she can handle a katana – but let it be known, her bare fists are just as deadly as her steel.
