HIP Picks 11/1/18

Halloween is behind us, Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away; we’re officially in the swing of autumn. This week, we’re sharing videos that range from futuristic to absolutely terrifying – and we have a feeling you’ll like what you see. Below, check out the latest HIP Picks – Weekly Client Roundup to see what we’ve got in store!

Flying bikes, robots, cyborgs: Joey Danger’s new music video for “Surrender” is a cyberpunk fantasy come to life. Growing up in the small town of Cocoa, Florida, Joey Danger moved to New York City to bring his dreams to life. “Surrender” comes off his new EP, Lust & Vulgarity, and took nearly two years to create, with Joey and photographer / film producer Morgan Miller working with no budget or special effects team to bring their vision to reality.

Seattle has always had a vibrant rap subculture, and MariBased1 and Mr. Benjamin are truly men of their town. Coming from MariBased1’s Mariotto Volume 1 mixtape, “Doe Boi” shows him working fast and pulling no punches. The “Doe Boi” clip, created by director Sonny Bonoho, gives a dreamlike quality to a side of Seattle that tourists rarely see, and is full of mystique.

What do you think of when you think of Halloween? Black cats, jack-o-lanterns, horror movies, to start… what about some heavy metal? Just in time for the spookiest holiday of the year, hard and fast Twin City rockers Sin7 have shared their new video for “Erased”. With a demon chasing the band members through an abandoned building, and a hazy, unsteady quality to the footage, it’s sure to freak you out.

David Haerle’s talent introduces itself, front and center, as he commands the stage with his ‘70s rock style. Haerle and his classically-trained and Grammy Award-winning band members radiate precision and brilliance in this new clip for “Glendale”, filmed at the legendary Sunset Sound studios in Hollywood. As the video comes to a close, you’ll be left with a sensation, the yearning remembrance of your own personal Glendale.
