Temperatures are dropping and leaves are falling – there’s no doubt about it, it’s autumn. Downtown Los Angeles is one of the hottest neighborhoods in the city, but not too long ago it was a hollowed-out shell of its former glory. The artistic community have now set up shop in DTLA and among them are dark synth-rock outfit The Ivy Walls. The Ivy Walls have now shared the video for “White Ocean”, the first single from their new album Pheromones. Starring Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman) alongside actress Emma McKie, the “White Ocean” video was shot in the Harvard House Motel. Like the withering romance of the song, the bygone hotel room itself is as central of a character as the actors themselves.

Every filmmaker knows there is no special effect more impressive than the human face, and throughout her video for “Swept Away”, Los Angeles musician Malea’s face fills the frame – but the video hardly needs anything else. Much of her singing on “Swept Away” is resonant, ethereal, and wordless, and it’s matched perfectly as her face is superimposed over a shifting, cosmic background. Through trippy digital effects and reflective cosmetics, Malea’s stare is unbroken and her hypnotic performance does most of the work.

By now, if you aren’t impressed with John Paciga, you haven’t been paying attention. Following up his debut album Other Side Of Town, this New Jersey teen has now announced the release of his new album No Alibi. Along with that, he’s shared the lyric video for “The F-Word”, a piano track influenced by the likes of Billy Joel and Ben Folds as well as musical theater classics, telling an entirely relatable tale.

AV Super Sunshine is the brightest at the ball. Inspired by 70s-era Aerosmoth, Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix, with his drive and energy to be a star, he does more than just shine, he radiates. Now, he’s releasing the video for “Time Bomb”, the first track off his upcoming album Candyland. Influenced the The Runaways’ classic song “Cherry Bomb”, the track was written after AV went cold-turkey from anti-depressants. The video sees AV and his partner Philomena glazing at the city skyline and running away from nothing.
