Maggie Baugh picked up the violin in 2006, when she was 6 years old, and began training in both classical violin, and fiddle. In October, 2011, she borrowed her cousins guitar to work on the first original song in her head. Her first public performance on her cousin’s guitar was in January, 2012, only 3 months later. It would be an understatement to say that she is a fast learner, and even more of an understatement to say that she works hard. With her new video for “Midnight Muddin” Maggie also shows that she plays hard, too!
Her hard work and perseverance is already paying big dividends in her young career. She’s opened shows for a plethora of name artists such as Ashley Monroe (of Pistol Annie’s), Cole Swindell, Josh Dorr, Old Southern Moonshine Revival, as well as finding herself onstage with country music legends Neal McCoy and the Charlie Daniels Band! She’s an endorsed artist through companies like Taylor Guitar, Deering Banjo, Durango Boots, and BuckSlayer brand clothing. In short, she is the complete package!
What can we say about the “Midnight Muddin” to really capture it’s true essence. The word “filthy” comes to mind! Of course, there is a heaping helping of mud being flung around in every direction. Whether it’s from the back end of an all terrain vehicle hitting the path, or from the oversized tires of a giant pickup truck that Maggie drives over an open field, nobody is immune from getting dirty. Just look at Maggie caked in the brown stuff while serenading the camera! It’s also filthy in the sense that it is a rip roaring good time, with high intensity and the boundless energy of youth. The song provides the perfect soundtrack for this video, as neither lets off the gas and the intense pace that it sets for the video. When we say buckle up, we mean it!
We are very proud and honored to be a part of the Maggie Baugh team and to see this young artist’s career from the ground floor as her upward trajectory goes into full effect.
